I love places that are less touristy but still have loads to offer. The Mamangal Beach is one of the hardest to reach beaches in Virac yet one of the most beautiful that I have ever laid my eyes on. Sagada is known for its “hanging coffins” – the traditional way of burying people which according to their traditions only the married and who have grandchildren may be buried this way. Also, its sunrise viewing which was featured in the movie “That Thing Called Tadhana.”
Puerto Galera is well-known for its beaches, the White beach and the Sabang beach. The island is family-friendly during the day, with water sports and jet ski rentals. At night, the bars and restaurants fill up with party-goers with fire dancers and sometimes steel drummers. I’ve been here thrice already, this was my second time.
