Packing List: Essential Supplies for Every Traveler’s Medical Kit

It’s always wise to bring a medical kit with you when you travel, especially if your vacation will be a long one. Traveling causes you to be much more physically active than usual, resulting in unaccustomed aches and pains and sometimes even injuries. Like getting a sunburn for example, it’s even worse if you don’t have medicines to lessen it’s symptoms.

Travel Medical Kit Considerations

Think about the area you are visiting and what may or may not be available there. Some careful planning and packing before your trip can avoid any wasted time, inconvenience or worse while you’re away.

What Should Be in a Traveler’s Medical Kit?

  • Prescription antibiotic prescribed by your physician.
  • Diarrhea medicine.
  • Laxative.
  • Liniment for muscle aches.
  • Ointment for insect bites.
  • Sunburn protection (and sunburn medication just in case).
  • Allergy and cold medicines.
  • Pain medication.
  • Medication for motion sickness and nausea.
  • Triple antibiotic ointment.
  • More band aids and bandages than you think you’ll need.
  • Alcohol and alcohol pads.
  • Hydrogen Peroxide as a disinfectant (if the bottle fits in your suitcase).
